Another first Tinder date from Mumbai. (Inspiration: René Magritte’s – The Lovers)
Day 18 of #100IndianTinderTales
“It was a very successful first date. There had been great conversation, wine and liberal stroking. The conversation was about everything from world politics to racism to women, feminism and every few minutes we’d find each other’s lips. Before we part, he walks me to the train station. Still talking, we scout for a dark nook to share a few passionate kisses.
Funnily, every time we think we have found a place, we realize we are trespassing and in someone’s makeshift home. Wherever we look, we see people going about their lives. Someone’s combing their hair, someone’s fast asleep, or cooking a meal, hugging a column and curled around it, singing a lullaby and they are definitely not happy about having us there in their homes. Every time we find each other’s lips, we realize there are eyes watching us from their beds.
We walk out, still looking for that perfect nook but this part of the city is still up and people still working. We reach the station after an unsuccessful quest. We embrace and leave to continue from behind our screens.”
