Day 91 of 100 Indian Tinder Tales
S from Mumbai shares his tale
“No other app has impacted my life and personal history half as much as Tinder. I’ve met a lot of women off Tinder. One became a serious girlfriend, another became a boob grab in my car, yet another made me her solitude from her maddening family life in another city. It’s wonderful that there really are so many women willing to meet strangers in a reasonably fucked-up society.
After a dry spell, I recently matched with N. N was a sweetheart. She met me within a day of us matching at a neighbourhood bar. She’s a cook at a fancy spot, and cursed through our date. We went for a walk after, and somehow ended up my place.
Once home, we sat on the giant sofa in my living room, and she casually let slip that she’s never been with anyone right before I was about to kiss her.
I’m pretty skeptical of being remembered as someone’s first because I think they deserve someone who cares. Currently, I’m at a stage where I quite simply don’t.
N and I met again, this time at Marine Drive before we went to her place. I sat on her beanbag, almost holding her hands as she read me poems, feeling goosebumps from the intimacy.
I really don’t want to care about someone right now, but when an interesting girl wears shorts and bares her soul to you, d’you really have a choice?”
